Strategic Planning aligns the requirements and needs of IT with business, finance and HR stakeholders, supporting business strategy analysis and ensuring achievement of organization goals. ABACUS helps CIO's and strategists to clearly understand the traceability between the business goals/objectives and IT goals/objectives, and to identify where there is significant costs, risks or gaps in the strategic plan.
Strategic Planning frameworks such as OMG’s Business Motivational Model (BMM), TOGAF, ArchiMate and Balanced Scorecard are supported out-of-the-box in ABACUS, with which an organization's drivers, goals and objectives can be mapped to the actions necessary for their achievement. All aspects of strategic impact, budget expenditure, resource cost allocation, skills utilization and competency demands can then be communicated to allow the stakeholders to track and manage the scenario's execution.
This planning process is further ehanced by ABACUS’ unique ability to create multiple discrete solution alternatives (scenarios) allowing various simulations (Discrete Event, Monte Carlo etc) to be run against each alternative for metrics such as Performance, Alignment, Cost and Availability. ABACUS also includes a detailed Activity-Based Costing (ABC) simulation for the financial modeling of enterprises as attributable to their 'owners', presentable through individual views and dashboards, and including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Net Present Value (NPV), Return On Investment (ROI) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
